It’s been a crazy-busy week. So busy, that I was contemplating simply writing, “Here. Links. You like.” And having that be it. But it seemed a bit … I don’t know … minimalist? Still, isn’t minimalism a good thing?

Probably. And in that spirit: Here. Links. You like.

50 states, 50 breakfasts. Damn it. Now I’m hungry.

How to win any argument online. (Warning: intelligent debate will be a casualty). (via @nerdseyeview)

A great analysis of The King’s Speech, and Oscar bait in general.

While all of these inventions (using repurposed materials) are awesome, can we agree that the salad dressing bottle topper looks vaguely dirty?

What happens when you mix Dali with a touch of Lewis Carroll? You get the dark, whimsical, and all-around delightful work of Maggie Taylor.

This is really bad for someone as hyper-competitive as I: a map that allows you to compare two countries of your choice, and give you a corresponding list of stats that would make your head spin (like how if we lived in the U.K, we’d spend less than half what we do now on health care.) As someone who’s traditionally sucked at math, I found this old Abbott and Costello skit about math delightful.

Mannequins eerily roaming around a city, with something (kohl-rimmed eyes, a missing wig) slightly amiss. What? Just because you don’t fully understand something doesn’t mean it’s not AWESOME.

Want vs. Need – putting our consumer culture and the nature of desire in perspective.

Map of the world, featuring the origins of the names of every country. Personally, I want to hang out in the Isle of Shrewmice.

——————

An illustrated guide to facial hair. And in case you were wondering, yes, “Questionable Content” totally applies to me.

Okay – that’s it for me this week. Travel is going to be ramping up again soon, so expect some sporadic blog posts and exciting tales of lord-knows-what in the coming months.
