I am back. I didn’t manage to get a post up yesterday (for the first time in quite a while) since I had a bit of a whirlwind day in Chicago.
And by “whirlwind” I mean “extravagant shopping”.
That’s right, faithful reader(s): I sold you out for an incredibly cute cropped black leather jacket that makes me look skinny. I found it at the Nordstrom on Miracle Mile. I kind of want to wear it all the time, despite the fact that it is cropped and not exceptionally warm (and that it is currently 18 degrees in Seattle, which Rand describes as “a stupid temperature”).
My brief trip to Chicago was somewhat unexpected and last minute. Rand and I realized that between all of our trips, we were going to see eachother once in about two and a half weeks, so when he was dreading his Chicago trip, I suggested I go with him. It was one of those brilliant moments of clarity that hit you when you have no obligations or steady income.
So Rand booked me a ticket a few weeks before – we didn’t even get to sit next to eachother on the flight there, but I was so stupid happy to be with him that I just kept smiling and laughing. A few of my fellow passengers noticed, and, while I am sure they thought I was certifiable, I caught them smiling stupidly, too. Apparently a good mood, like a bad one, is contagious.
And now I’m home (for nine whole days!), weilding a new jacket and some pretty amazing photos. I’ll blog about the trip in more detail, but in the meantime here’s a photo of the view that greeted me this morning:
